Vol. 394 No. 8

Written Answers. - Remedial Teaching.

John Bruton

Question:

433 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education is she will outline her attitude to the involvement of parents as adult literacy and numeracy volunteers to help remedial teachers cope with remedial teaching problems in national schools, where this is acceptable to the teachers concerned.

The position under the current Rules for national schools is that all teaching duties in such schools must be undertaken by qualified national teachers whose appointment by a board of management has been sanctioned in each case by the Minister for Education.
