Vol. 394 No. 8

Written Answers. - Mullingar (Westmeath) Hospital Food Preparation.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

48 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Health the cost of providing the cook/chill system for food in the new General Hospital, Mullingar, County Westmeath; if he will give details of its success in the preparation and distribution of food to patients since its introduction; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The cost involved in introducing this system is approximately £600,000. To date the new system has operated most satisfactorily and reaction from both staff and patients to cook/chill food has been very favourable.
