Vol. 394 No. 8

Written Answers. - Ardkeen (Waterford) New Regional Hospital.

Austin Deasy

Question:

85 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health the date of commencement of the construction of the new Regional Hospital at Ardkeen, Waterford; the cost of the project; if construction is on schedule; if not, the reason for the delay; when the project is due for completion; and if this date is expected to be met.

Construction work on the Ardkeen Hospital project commenced in early 1987 and is expected to be completed by 1994. The progress of the work is generally in line with the agreed building schedule and no significant delays are expected.

The cost of the project will be influenced by several factors which are difficult to predict accurately and I cannot give a precise figure at this stage.
