Vol. 395 No. 7

Written Answers. - County Meath School Transport.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

113 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Education the reason school transport has not been awarded to persons (details supplied) in County Meath who are fare paying and living a considerable distance from the school; and if she will have this matter rectified immediately.

Persons, such as those in question here, who are ineligible for school transport by virtue of age and/or distance may travel on special school services on a fare paying basis only provided there are spare seats available after all eligible children have been accommodated. There are no spare seats on the existing bus in this instance.
