Vol. 395 No. 8

Written Answers. - IDA Lands.

Michael D. Higgins

Question:

45 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the total amount of land owned by the IDA; whether the IDA has any plans to dispose of such land in 1990; the total market value of such land; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that the total amount of land owned by it at end 1989 was 3,354 acres. The value of the IDA's land holdings, excluding site development costs, at end 1988, the latest year for which figures are available, was £34.8 million. The IDA has no plans to undertake a special land disposal programme in 1990 other than disposals which will take place in the normal course of its activities.
