Vol. 395 No. 9

Written Answers. - Part of School Buildings.

John Bruton

Question:

273 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education the reason for the provision, in Rule 48 (5) of the Rules for National Schools, for the prohibition of the giving of aid towards the rent of school buildings.

Aid cannot be given in respect of the rent of national schools because substantial aid has already been given in respect of their provision. Grants may however be given towards rent of temporary premises when this is necessary.
