The Department of Tourism and Transport was established in March 1987 as a result of a re-allocation of ministerial functions which involved a combination of the tourism function (previously the responsibility of the Department of Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry) and the transport function (previously the responsibility of the Department of Communications).
The following statement sets out the information requested by the Deputy as at 31 December 1987 and 31 December 1989.
