Vol. 395 No. 9

Written Answers. - Great Southern Hotel Group.

Séamus Pattison

Question:

47 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for Labour if he will outline the nature of the relationship, if any, between CERT and the Great Southern Hotels group; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

On 6 March 1984, responsibility for the Great Southern Hotel Group was transferred to the Minister for Labour because of his close contact with CERT, the body which oversees training and education for the hotels and catering sector.

The shares of the group are held by CERT but the board of Great Southern Hotels, which is appointed by the Minister for Labour, following consultations with the Chairman of CERT, reports directly to the Minister.
