Vol. 395 No. 9

Written Answers. - Sanctions Against South Africa.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

70 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Taoiseach if he has taken any action to correct the impression given by the British Prime Minister, arising from his letter to her, that the Irish Presidency of the EC is amenable to the relaxation of economic sanctions against South Africa.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a Private Notice Question in the House on 13 February and the text of my letter to the Prime Minister which has been published. I do not consider that any further comment or action by me is called for.
