Vol. 395 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

Michael Bell

Question:

95 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer ceased employment on 6 January 1990, and submitted a claim for repayment of tax on the grounds of unemployment to the inspector of taxes on 12 January 1990. The inspector is not yet in a position to deal with the claim as he is experiencing difficulty in obtaining verification of details of pay and tax deducted from one of the taxpayer's former employers. The inspector wrote to the taxpayer in the matter on 2 February 1990. The inspector recently contacted the employer and has been advised that the relevant vertification is now being submitted. On receipt of same the taxpayers claim will receive immediate attention.
