Question:129 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when headage grants will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and the reason for the delay in this case.
This applicant has been requested to produce evidence of off-farm earnings for income tax years ended 5 April 1988 and 1989. When he submits the information requested his eligibility under the 1988 and 1989 cattle and equines headage and 1988 suckler cow premium schemes will be considered further.
Payments due to him under the 1988 special beef premium scheme and the 1989 suckler cow, calf and special beef premium schemes are being withheld to offset against possible overpayments made to him under the 1988 and 1989 sheep headage schemes.
His failure to submit evidence of off-farm earnings had delayed the processing of his headage applications.

Payment covering the balance payable under that scheme together with payments due to him under the 1989 EC special beef, suckler cow and calf premium schemes are being processed and will issue shortly.
