Vol. 396 No. 3

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

Austin Deasy

Question:

154 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason disability benefit is not being paid at the full rate to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if the correct amount will be paid immediately.

The person concerned is being paid disability benefit from 5 January 1990 at the rate of £50.45 per week. This amount is made up of the maximum personal rate of £45 and £5.45 which is a half rate allowance in respect of one child dependant.

The person concerned also claimed an allowance in respect of his wife but did not answer the questions on the claim form regarding her income. The claim form was reissued to him for completion on 14 February 1990. On receipt of the completed form his claim will be reviewed.
