Vol. 396 No. 3

Written Answers. - Ballyhaunis (County Mayo) Traffic Signs.

Jim Higgins

Question:

190 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment if he is currently considering parking by-laws submitted by Mayo County Council in respect of the town of Ballyhaunis, County Mayo.

Traffic and parking by-laws in respect of County Mayo were made by the Garda Commissioner in 1986 with the consent of the Minister.

I understand that Mayo County Council have requested the approval of the Garda Commissioner to the provision of certain traffic signs in Ballyhaunis and that this request is being examined at the moment. This request does not require an amendment of the by-laws.
