Question:

111 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if she will provide a transition year in St. Anne's Secondary School, Tipperary, County Tipperary, in addition to the vocational preparation training course in operation; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Sanction for the operation of transition year courses is confined to schools which offered such courses in the 1987-88 school year or which had four year junior cycles in 1985-86. The school has a six year cycle due to the fact that a vocational preparation training course has recently been sanctioned.
