Vol. 397 No. 3

Written Answers. - Driving Licence Regulation.

John Dennehy

Question:

145 Mr. Dennehy asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider changing the regulation whereby an Irish national who holds a driving licence in a developing country and allows his Irish licence to lapse must, on temporary reassignment or permanent return take out, and pay for a new learner's licence and then apply and pay for the driving test.

I am currently considering the question of an amendment to the regulation to meet circumstances such as those referred to by the Deputy.
