Question:

187 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Education whether children who were previously attending Milleen national school, Mallow, County Cork, which was closed in 1974 and amalgamated with Rockchapel national school, are entitled to free school transport; the reason children in the Milleen national school catchment area, who live in the west Limerick rather than north-west Cork catchment area, have free school transport to Glengort national school, Tournafulla, County Limerick; and if there are different rules governing the Milleen catchment area from those which govern the Taur and Knockanbane catchment areas, Newmarket, County Cork.

188 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Education the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork has been refused free school transport for his three children from Body's Cross, Milleen to Rockchapel national school, County Cork, despite the fact that they live in the catchment area of the now closed Milleen national school and they reside over three miles from Rockchapel national school.

189 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Education the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork has been refused free school transport for his four children from Milleen Bridge to Rockchapel despite the fact that they live in the catchment area of the now closed Milleen national school and they reside over three miles from Rockchapel national school.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 187, 188 and 189 together. The matters raised in the Deputy's questions are being examined by my Department and I will communicate the outcome to him as soon as possible.
