Vol. 397 No. 3

Written Answers. - EC Presidency Travel Costs.

Alan M. Dukes

Question:

109 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the projected cost of foreign travel on commercial airlines by him while engaged in EC Presidency duties for the first half of this year.

It is not possible at this stage to project the cost of foreign travel by me on commercial airlines while engaged in EC Presidency duties for the first half of this year. However, no such expense has been incurred to date.

Alan M. Dukes

Question:

110 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the projected cost of foreign travel on commercial airlines by him while engaged in EC Presidency duties for the first half of this year.

I have not to date travelled on commercial airlines in the exercise of EC Presidency duties and it is my intention to continue to use the Government jet for this purpose during the remainder of the Presidency. In these circumstances, and subject, of course, to the availability of the Government jet, there will be no expenditure by me on travel on commercial airlines.
