Vol. 397 No. 5

Written Answers. - Horticultural Grants.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

102 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the grants which are available in the horticultural industry from the State or the EC for the production of vegetables, such as mushrooms, tomatoes and potatoes; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Grant aid ranging from 15 per cent to 35 per cent is available to farmers following a plan under the EC Farm Improvement Programme for horticultural investments, including greenhouses. The national greenhouse grant scheme, operated under national rules, provides for grant aid of 25 per cent for investments in greenhouses.
