Question:

168 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Energy if Ireland's reserves of oil meet EC requirements.

In accordance with EC Directive 68/414/EEC, as amended, Ireland is obliged to hold 90 days' strategic reserves of crude oil and/or petroleum products. On average over the last year, Irish reserve levels reported to the EC in accordance with this directive are as follows:

Motor Spirit

85 days

Middle Distillates

61 days

Fuel Oil

125 days
