Vol. 397 No. 9

Written Answers. - Tenant Purchase Scheme.

Ruairí Quinn

Question:

260 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that many tenants seeking to purchase local authority flats have been frustrated in their efforts because of the protracted delays that have occurred in some of the major county boroughs because of a shortage of staff; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Administration of the tenant purchase scheme is a matter for local authorities. The allocation of staffing to the various programme areas and the recruitment of staff where necessary is also a matter for determination by each local authority manager.
