Vol. 397 No. 9

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Tomás MacGiolla

Question:

344 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Education if she will review the decision to refuse school transport facilities to Finstown national school to persons (details supplied) in County Donegal on the basis that these children could be accommodated on the bus taking pupils to the post-primary school at Ballinamore, County Donegal.

There is an insufficient number of children offering for transport to Ballinamore post-primary school from the area in question to warrant the establishment of a transport service under the terms of the Department's post-primary scheme. Any services from the area would therefore be a matter of private arrangements.
