Written Answers. - Civil Service Decentralisation.

Question:

103 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Finance if he has any proposals to decentralise Civil Service functions to any location in County Meath.

The Government recently announced its decision to extend the decentralisation programme to five additional centres throughout the country.

I regret to inform the Deputy that no location in County Meath was involved in this extension to the programme.

Question:

104 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Finance if he will give details of his plans to decentralise a Government Department to Cork; when decentralisation will take place; and the number of posts that will be transferred in the process.

The Government recently announced its decision to extend the decentralisation programme to five additional centres throughout the country. Cork city is one of these additional centres.

Decisions have not yet been taken on the time scale for completion of the extended programme and on the other details, including the number of staff to be transferred to each of the centres.
