24 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Energy if, in light of his recent decision to rescind prospecting licences in relation to Croagh Patrick, County Mayo, he has satisfied himself that the present provisions for issuing prospecting licences take sufficient account of environmental concerns; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As I stated in the House on 28 March last in response to a previous question, I am satisfied that the procedures followed by my Department in issuing prospecting licences take adequate account of environmental concerns.
