49 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Energy if he will revoke all prospecting licences issued in relation to Delphi Valley/Doolough areas of County Mayo due to the areas of outstanding natural beauty and uniqueness; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The Delphi Valley/Doolough areas of County Mayo are contained in Prospecting Licence No. 2399. I, of course, share the Deputy's appreciation of the natural beauty of Delphi and Doolough. However, the fact that a prospecting licence includes beautiful landscapes is not in itself sufficient grounds for revoking it and I will not, therefore, be revoking this licence.
