Vol. 399 No. 2

Written Answers. - Institute of Clinical Pharmacology Funding.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

85 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will outline the grants given to the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology by the IDA over the last five years up to the time when the company went into receivership; and on what basis such grants were given.

The information requested by the Deputy is a day-to-day matter for the Industrial Development Authority. I would refer the Deputy to the appendix of the authority's annual reports for details of grants paid to ICP under the Industrial Development Act, 1986. I understand the authority's annual report for 1989 is due to be published shortly.

Question:

86 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Labour the amount of money his Department, or any agency operating under his Department, paid in grant support to the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology; for what periods the money was paid; and the reasons for such payments.

Payments by FÁS to an organisation would be a day-to-day matter for that body and the Deputy may obtain the information direct from FÁS.

Apart from FÁS, neither my Department nor any agency for which I am statutorily responsible paid any amounts of money in grant support to the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology.
