The categorisation of radio stations as well as the number of radio stations franchised at any time is a matter for the Independent Radio and Television Commission. As far as I am aware, the commission has not actually defined its criteria for a community radio station so that I cannot say how many, if any, of the stations currently operating might be so categorised. The matter, I would stress, is the statutory responsibility of the commission.
