Question:145 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education when a contractor will be appointed to construct the extension to Portlaw boys' school, County Waterford; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The tenders which have been received in my Department for the proposed extension to Portlaw boys' national school, County Waterford, are being examined. This examination will be completed at the earliest possible date and a decision conveyed to the school authorities. Because there are a number of factors in this matter outside the control of my Department I am not in a position to say precisely, at this point, when a contractor will be appointed for the project.
