80 Mr. Ferris asked the Minister for Education if she will make a once-off allocation to establish new libraries or to refurbish depleted stocks in existing libraries in second level schools; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
Major building projects funded by my Department include as a normal feature the provision of a library. The question of stocking the library is a matter for the school authorities in each case.
I regret that there are no funds at the disposal of my Department out of which a grant can be made for the purpose.
