Question:

115 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Finance the reason his Department have not acknowledged an application sent in February 1990 for a foreshore and inland waters shooting permit for a person (details supplied) in County Cavan; and if he will now grant the permit.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 114 and 115 together.

It is not the practice of the Wildlife Service to acknowledge receipt of applications for foreshore permits because of the very large number of applications received each year.

The applications in question are being examined by the Wildlife Service and a decision will be made shortly.
