Vol. 400 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

P. J. Sheehan

Question:

128 Mr. Sheehan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry did not receive payment of his 1988 headage grant even though he has received his 1989 grant.

This applicant's payment under the 1988 cattle and equines headage scheme is being processed and will issue shortly.

The delay in payment arose because of his failure to produce documentary evidence of lands he had rented in 1988 to my Department's local office. This information has now been received.

Edward Nealon

Question:

129 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of farmers in County Sligo who have not received their cattle headage payments for the past year.

Some 98 per cent of the headage payments in County Sligo have already been paid. Most of the 242 outstanding cases involve queries and they will be paid as soon as the queries are resolved.
