Question:

132 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will outline (a) the name (b) area and (c) location of each undivided bog in County Leitrim; the Government's position regarding the division or otherwise of these bogs; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Detailed information on undivided bog held by the Land Commission in County Leitrim is not readily available in the precise form requested by the Deputy. It is estimated that the total area involved is 1080 hectares.

The allocation of agricultural land held by the Land Commission is at present taking precedence over the allocation of bog.

Detailed information on undivided bog held by the Land Commission in Co. Sligo is not readily available in the precise form requested by the Deputy. It is estimated that the total area involved is 1827 hectares.

The allocation of agricultural land held by the Land Commission is at present taking precedence over the allocation of bog.
