Question:

39 Mr. Kavanagh asked the Minister for Energy if he will outline the relative use by the ESB for electricity generating purposes of oil, coal, milled peat, gas and other fuel sources; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The breakdown of the ESB's fuel sources for electricity generating purposes for 1989 was as follows: coal, 44 per cent; gas, 31 per cent; peat, 15 per cent; oil, 5 per cent and hydro, 5 per cent.
