81 Mr. Durkan asked the Taoiseach if the National Heritage Council will offer assistance towards the restoration of the tower at St. Mary's Church of Ireland, Maynooth, County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that no application has been received by the National Heritage Council relating to the restoration of the tower at St. Mary's Church of Ireland, Maynooth, County Kildare.

Applications to the National Heritage Council are considered on their merits by the council. The council have complete independence in deciding on the priorities for grant assistance and the amount, if any, in each case.
