Vol. 400 No. 9

Written Answers. - Foreign Visiting Naval Vessels.

Tony Gregory

Question:

101 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the annual number of foreign naval vessels which were granted port visiting permission by the Irish authorities for each year over the period from 1 January 1946 to 31 December 1989, inclusive; the type of vessel concerned; the country of origin; and the Irish port of call.

It would take an inordinate amount of time and resources to provide the information requested for the full period from 1946 to 1989.

The information requested by the Deputy in respect of the period January 1987 — December 1989 is set out in the following tabular statement.
