Vol. 401 No. 2

Written Answers. - Tax-Free Allowance.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

51 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance when an update of tax free allowances and relevant refund of tax paid will be given to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the area in the tax office dealing with the husband's tax affairs is the subject of industrial action due to the non-replacement of a member of staff. Efforts are being made to resolve the matter and revised certificates of tax-free allowances will then be issued to the taxpayers as soon as possible and their liability will be reviewed.
