Vol. 401 No. 4

Written Answers. - Bituminous Coal Ban Enforcement.

Alan Shatter

Question:

177 Mr. Shatter asked the Minister for the Environment the additional financial resources which are to be made available to Dublin Corporation and to Dublin County Council so that they can recruit the additional staff required to enforce the ban on the marketing, sale and distribution of bituminous coal that will become operative on 1 September 1990.

The funding of staff costs from current revenues and the allocation of resources to particular activities are matters for determination by the local authorities.
