Question:236 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Health the reason for the delay in the appointment of a general practitioner for the Collooney district of County Sligo.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to the current general practitioner vacancy in Collaney, Co. Sligo. I understand from the North-Western Health Board that an appointment was not made from the recent competition held for this post. The post was re-advertised immediately and arrangements are in hand for the establishment of an interview board.
