137 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the feasibility studies which have been undertaken by the industrial development agencies into the possibility of establishing new industries based on the recycling of paper and plastics or of supporting and promoting commercial waste recycling projects.
This is a day-to-day matter for the Industrial Development Authority. I am informed that the IDA has established a working group to examine possibilites for new industries of the type mentioned, has commissioned a comprehensive consultancy study to identify opportunities and has approved grants for a number of feasibility studies on specific product areas. The details of these studies are confidential to the promoters.
