Vol. 401 No. 6

Written Answers. - New Swords Health Centre.

Seán Ryan

Question:

192 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the urgent need for a new health centre in Swords, County Dublin, he will make a further allocation to the Eastern Health Board in 1990 to enable the necessary works to proceed in the preparation of tender documents for the construction of the centre.

The provision of a health centre in Swords, County Dublin, is high on the Eastern Health Board's priority list of developments. I have already made funds available for the purchase of a site for the proposed health centre and planning is proceeding. My Department will be having discussions with the Eastern Health Board shortly on a programme for the provision of health centres, including Swords. I am not, however, in a position at this stage to say when construction of the centre will commence.
