Written Answers. - Senior Cycle Syllabuses.
The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment is at present engaged in an analysis of the existing provision at senior cycle and the question of how that provision may be best developed in order to meet the diversity of student needs and also to accommodate changes which will be taking place in the junior cycle. This review will inevitably lead to new syllabuses and indeed new subject areas. As yet, however, this review and the consultative process involved in it, has not reached the stage where firm recommendations can be put to me.
