Vol. 401 No. 6

Written Answers. - Tax-Free Allowances.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

106 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance when a tax free allowance certificate will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer ceased employment in January 1988. The inspector of taxes has had no communication from the taxpayer since then. The inspector has now issued a return of income form to the taxpayer for completion. A certificate of tax free allowances will be issued to him as appropriate on receipt of the completed form.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that an amended certificate of tax free allowances for the year 1990-91 granting him exemption from tax for the current year will be issued to the taxpayer by the inspector of taxes within the next seven days.
