Allocation of Time: Motion.

That notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders—

(1) the proceedings on the Second Stage of the Companies (Amendment) Bill, 1990, if not previously concluded, shall be brought to a conclusion at 2.30 p.m. to-day and the following arrangements shall apply in the debate on the motion for the second reading of the Bill:

(a) the speech of the main spokesperson for each of the Groups (as defined in Standing Order 89 (1)) shall not exceed 30 minutes;

(b) the speech of each other Member called on shall not exceed 20 minutes; and

(c) the Minister for Industry and Commerce shall be called on not later than 2 p.m. to conclude the debate;

(2) the sitting shall be suspended between 2.30 p.m. and 3 p.m. to-day; and

(3) the proceedings on the Third, Fourth and Fifth Stages of the Companies (Amendment) Bill, 1990, if not previously concluded shall be brought to a conclusion at 10 p.m. to-day by one Question which shall be put from the Chair and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only amendments set down by the Minister for Industry and Commerce.
