Vol. 402 No. 1

Written Answers. - Wexford Employment Exchange Facilities.

Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

188 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Social Welfare the steps he is taking to provide adequate facilities for staff and members of the public at the employment exchange, Anne Street, Wexford.

New Government offices will be provided in Wexford as part of the Government's decentralisation programme, which is being extended to include Wexford. Current planning is that these offices will provide for the staff of the employment exchange and the members of the public who use that office a new local social welfare services office within the new Government offices.

In the meantime, the question of utilising a small amount of accommodation, which is available adjacent to the existing office, to effect some temporary improvement is still under consideration.
