Vol. 402 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tallaght (Dublin) Garda Station.

Mervyn Taylor

Question:

198 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Justice if he will make a statement regarding current Garda manning levels at Tallaght Garda station, Tallaght, Dublin 24; and if he will arrange for additional resources and manpower to be provided having regard to the population of the area and the needs of the division.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that an additional garda and three civilian clerical assistants were assigned to Tallaght station during September. The assignment of the garda has maintained the strength of the station at 104, while the clerical assignments are facilitating the release of gardaí from clerical duties to outdoor patrol duty. The Garda authorities assure me that the policing needs of the Tallaght area are being kept under constant review.
