Written Answers. - Rail Network.

Toddy O'Sullivan

Question:

55 Mr. T. O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport if any discussions have taken place between his Department and Iarnród Éireann relating to the existing rail network; and if there are any plans to close certain lines.

There is regular contact between my Department and Iarnród Éireann in the context of the formulation and implementation of Government policy in relation to the railway. There are no plans under consideration at present by the Government to close railway lines.
