Vol. 402 No. 1

Written Answers. - Ballinskelligs (Kerry) Castle.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

114 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Finance if Ballinskelligs Castle, County Kerry, will be considered for inclusion on the Register of National Monuments.

Ballinskelligs Castle, which has been much altered and has no unusual features or elements, would not be considered suitable for taking into State care as a national monument. It is, however, listed in the archaeological sites and monuments record for County Kerry produced by the Office of Public Works and will be considered for inclusion on the Register of Historic Monuments.
