Vol. 402 No. 3

Written Answers. - Prisoner's Representations.

Peter Barry

Question:

69 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he has received representations in the case of Danny McNamee who is at present in Parkhurst Prison; if he considers this to be a case that should be raised at the Anglo-Irish Conference; and, if so, whether he intends to do so.

I have received a number of representations on this case. As Mr. McNamee was convicted in Britain, and his case is shortly to be heard on appeal there, the Embassy in London is responsible for monitoring developments in relation to the case.

I have no plans to raise Mr. McNamee's case at the Anglo-Irish Conference.
