Question:

116 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Health if he will give the comparative day-to-day cost of maintaining an elderly person in: (a) an acute hospital, (b) a geriatric hospital, (c) a district hospital and (d) a welfare home; and whether these figures include the capital outlay.

The average comparative day-to-day cost of maintaining an elderly person in a hospital or welfare home is as set out hereunder:
