47 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for the Environment the steps he is taking to promote the EC Directive on Wildlife Habitats in this country; the financial support which he is giving to voluntary and other agencies to give working effect to the directive; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The measure referred to in the question is at draft stage only. If and when it is adopted by the EC Council implementation in this country would be for the Office of Public Works.
