Vol. 403 No. 2

Written Answers. - Clondalkin (Dublin) Policing.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

94 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice if he will meet a delegation of residents from the Ronanstown area of Clondalkin, Dublin 22, to discuss general law and order problems of the areas; and the proposals of the residents to deal with these problems.

The management of Garda resources and of operational measures relating to the maintenance of law and order in particular areas are matters primarily for the local Garda authorities and accordingly I consider that it would be more appropriate for residents who are concerned about problems in their areas to meet and discuss their concerns with Garda officers.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that a request has been received from the Deputy for a meeting with a delegation from the residents in the Ronanstown area of Clondalkin to discuss problems in this area and that a meeting with appropriate officers will be arranged at an early date.
